ARCHBISHOP NEINSTEDT ROBBED

While Archbishop John Neinstedt was in Rome receiving the pallium, thieves broke into his residence and stole papal rings, a pectoral cross, a safe and rosaries.

It appears that the thieves knew where these things were located and selected their entry point accordingly--a second story window with three or four inch thick glass that would require a sledge hammer to break. It is believed there was a team of thieves needed to be able to lift the safe.

Hmmmmm. Wasn't there a recent incident in which a Catholic dissident turned up at an outdoor ceremony wearing bishop's clothes? Probably, coincidental, right?

Read the story here.
